Fajr Visual Arts Festival to honor coronavirus-hit photographers

The Fajr Visual Arts Festival in Iran is to pay tribute to photographers who contracted coronavirus.

The Fajr Visual Arts Festival in Iran has scheduled to pay tribute to photographers who contracted the coronavirus or lost their lives due to COVID-19 while they were carrying out their duties during the pandemic.

Referring to the sacrifices made by the photographers during the coronavirus pandemic, Jasem Ghazbanpour, a member of the policy council of the 13th Fajr Visual Arts Festival said, the organizers of upcoming edition of the event decided “to pay tribute to the photographers who were active during the pandemic and got infected with the new coronavirus or died from the COVID-19 respiratory disease”.

The pandemic impacted many cultural events and forced the cancellation or the postponement of many festivals.

The 13th Fajr Visual Arts Festival will take place in Tehran next February.

The festival coincides with the Ten-Day Fajr ceremonies across Iran, marking the anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution.
